Meet the Mourne Mamas
Mourne Mamas was lovingly founded by Claudia Newell, a local mum who wanted to create the kind of support she needed after the birth of her daughter, Margot.
What started as a simple idea in February 2025 has grown into a community of over 490 mums across the Mourne area – a place to meet other mums, make friends, have a bit of craic and, most importantly, know you’re not doing motherhood alone.
Together, we organise events, create opportunities to connect and work with local businesses and organisations to make motherhood in our community feel a little less lonely.

With a background in education, research and creative design, Claudia brings together her love of community, creativity and motherhood to grow Mourne Mamas and its vision for the future.

Mum of 3 who loves to bake, friendly, fun and always up for a chat!
Grateful for the opportunity to be a Mourne Mama and so lucky to be part of such an amazing community.
Treasurer
Laura
Mum of two who loves a good spreadsheet and uses any excuse to make an occasion for the kids! Juggling running a business, part-time work and charity roles, she loves to chill and chat over a cuppa!
Secretary
Aimee
Aimee is a Type C mum of three who lives in Converse and survives on coffee! She works part-time for a local charity and spends the rest of her week with the kiddos - although a lot of that involves school and hobby runs!
When she gets some kid-free time, she loves an art class or a good catch-up and spilling the tea with friends, old and new.
