Meet the Mourne Mamas

Mourne Mamas was lovingly founded by Claudia Newell, a local mum who wanted to create the kind of support she needed after the birth of her daughter, Margot.
 

What started as a simple idea in February 2025 has grown into a community of over 400 mums across the Mourne area - a place to meet other mums, make friends, have a bit of craic and, most importantly, know you’re not doing motherhood alone.

Today, Mourne Mamas is run by a small team of local mums who give their time, ideas and energy to keeping the community going. Together, we organise events, create opportunities to connect and work with local businesses and organisations to make motherhood in our community feel a little less lonely.

At the heart of Mourne Mamas is a simple idea: bringing mums together, supporting one another and having a good time along the way.
